Northern Railway (NR) - TPO 2 (Travelling Post Office), running between Townsville and Richmond from 15 May 1899 to 14 September 1932. When the TPO vans began operating in 1899 the line was known as the Northern Railway (NR) - hence the name on the datestamps. Around 1909 it became known as the Great Northern Railway but the existing date stamps remained
