Tingalpa post office, 10 km east of the Brisbane general post office, opened on 20 May 1867. It was renamed Capalaba on 1 March 1874 before reverting back to Tingalpa on 8 June 1875 and was reduced to a receiving office in 1892. However the Capalaba date stamp appeared to be used from March 1874 onwards
